*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*Scripture Treasure.*
Proverbs 26:7 *The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
A person who lacks wisdom can not speak wise sayings or the word of the wise.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Solomon teaches us how wisdom is evaluated.
The way we live our lives, who we associate with, can determine how people assess or evaluate our advice, counsel, and wise saying.
Solomon's use of defects in physical abilities, like broken tooth, foot out of joint (lameness) is an expression of how wisdom or wise sayings is associated to who we are, ref Prov 26:6-7.
Proverbs 13:20 says *He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.*
Solomon's metaphor using the lame is not to demean such people but to teach us a few things.
First, guide by example. Let what you say reflect who you are.
Second, Solomon paraphrase a situation where someone who is lame in both feet, though have legs, can not use them or walk with them.
Though a person that limps because his legs are not equal, may say he walks, he can not be compared to a person who walks with a perfect pair of legs.
They are both able to say they have legs to walk, but the words of a perfectly legged man are held in a higher esteem.
The legs of a lame person are useless to him because he can not walk with them.
He is not made perfect as one who has legs he can walk with. He is not a perfect tutor to anybody as to how to walk because he can not walk though he has legs.
So, if the legs of a lame are useless to the lame, so a proverb, or wisdom in the mouth of anyone who can not be made better or influential by his wisdom is regarded as a fool who can not learn from the wisdom he speaks.
He can not offer wise sayings that could not be seen to have worked or be working for him.
He can not offer to someone what he does not have.
A person who lacks wisdom can not speak the word of the wise.
Solomon's word can be explained further that a person who does not have riches can not promise anyone riches.
Do you wish to guide others?
Show you can guide yourself first!
Those who can not guide themselves can not guide others.
*Remorse Corner.*
Solomon is saying you can not give what you do not have.
*Call to Word action.*
How wise you are will be determined by your goings.
A fool is known by his goings.
He is *"....known by multitude of words."* Eccl 5:3, but the wise has control over what he says, Prov 29:11. ref Prov 17:28.
*The Christian clarion duty.*
There is restoration for the fool. If he tries to be like the wise. When he refuses to utter all that is in his heart, Prov 29:11, 26:7.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to utter parables, wise and faithful sayings in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
