*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*WHO IS ON THE LORD'S SIDE? (2)*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Matt 12:30
*He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
You can not be neither here nor there with Christ. It is either God or Satan, neutrality is impossible.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Jesus tells us that those who do not gather with Him scatter.
Those who do not gather with Him are not on the Lord's side.
They make what ought to be fruitful fruitless. They are architects of fruitless labour.
They do not build and are not pillars.
Paul identify these sets of people as people who cause divisions and offenses amongst God's people.
He writes in Romans 16:17-18:
*Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.*
*For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.*
Scattering what God gathers is traceable to offenses like rebellion, and are such people are futher identified as *"....blasphemers, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,*
*Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;*
*Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.*
2 Tim 3:3-5.
It is either you align with God joining His mission to gather believers, or you reject by joining those who reject Him.
Exd 23:2 says *Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:*
Jesus here tells us that He has enemies and we ought not be surprised if we have people in our midst who scatter what we gather.
They are people He referred to as a generation of people who hated Him, John 15:8 so they will hate us.
Nehemiah was on the Lord's side but
Sanballat and Tobiah were two prominent adversaries who fiercely opposed his efforts to rebuild Jerusalem's wall in the book of Nehemiah.
This call clearly opens our eyes to know that those who either answer 'no' to the call or remain neutral are clear oppositions and identifiable foes and we know who and where to direct our warfare prayers.
Identifying Sanballat and Tobiah as adversaries helped Nehemiah to know their plots. This helped him to demonstrate an awareness and steadfastness in relying on God to overcome these significant political and personal obstacles, Neh 2:9.
*Remorse corner.*
Choose to be on the Lord's side and you will know those who are not on the Lord's side.
*Call to Word action.*
When the call of 'who is on the Lord's side' is made there is no midway.
*The Christian clarion duty.*
It is a call for active participation, decisiveness and firmness, not a passive participation.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to answer this call with utmost decisiveness and faithfulness.
Let me never leave Your side in Jesus name.
Good morning all and be blessed as you come into His presence today.
God bless you.
Shalom.
