DREAMS (11).

1 Samuel 3:1

And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.

Insight and Highlight.

Sin is indisputably the best illustration of the dearth of divine revelation and visions.

Scripture Commentaries.

Solomon tells us that some dreams come from a "....multitude of business...". Looking at his illustration, worry, anxiety can be a part of this.

While some of these multitude of business may not be sinful in nature,

sin stands out as the 'Generalissimo' and ranks as the highest level of man's depravity and controls humanity's degradation. Paul says a man can be controlled by his sinful nature, Rom 7:17.

Sin remains what stands between us and God as a barrier. While Jesus stands as our mediator 1 Tim 2:5, it crouches to take this place as an adversary to prevent us from God, except we master it, Gen 4:7.

The presence of one sin is a multitude of obstacles to receiving revelation from God, 1 Sam 3:1.

Sin stood between Saul and God.

1 Samuel 28:6 And when Saul inquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.

When a false prophet has a dream

"....through the multitude of business;...", he will prophesy according to this spirit in him.

In the days of Noah, Jesus told us that

before the flood, the people ".....were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away;.....", Matt 24:38-39

The people could not dream of the coming of God's judgment because they were too occupied with the "...multitude of business..." of eating and drinking, marrying.

Dreams are God's way of telling us the future today.

Do not miss your tomorrow today.

Seek God to give you a dream.

Remember to remove all multitude of business.

Pray to God for a dream!

Whatever distracts you from receiving your life's dream is a multitude of business.

As you are what you dream of becoming or achieving, so are you what you do not dream of becoming or achieving.

The Christian clarion duty.

God does not want you caught unawares. This is why, through dreams, He gives us a heads up of what to expect.

Prayer.

Lord, let me dream dreams that matter in my life, in name.
