*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*COMING TO THE HOUSE OF GOD (2)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Psalm 122:1 *I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

You should not be offended, but glad, when you are invited to come into the house of God.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Coming to God's house made David happy.

Some people may be offended, but David was glad.

To him, it was one of his lifetime's joy found in the shared experience of faith and fellowship with others.

Yesterday, we looked at the first of two lessons David teaches us which was those who found their home in God.

Today, we will look at the second and this is where those who found a home in God also hope to seek for those who do not yet have a home in Christ.

Since they have found a home in God, they seek those who do not have and when they find them, they invite them.

Since home is where their heart is, they have the courage and liberality to invite others.

How do you feel when someone invites you to come along into the house of the Lord?

How do you feel when you are asked to come along to the house of the Lord compared to when you are invited to a social gathering?

Why do we feel time flies when we are having fun compared to feeling time drags when we are in God's presence?

Why do we often feel that time before God is longer? How often we feel or think the church service is too long but time was never enough at any partying or social event?

How often do we feel we have nothing to gain going into God's presence but everything to gain socializing?

David expressed a heartfelt, joyous eagerness to be in God's presence.

Those who are glad when they say to them to come into the house of the Lord have the joy of being encouraged by others to worship together.

People get excited to meet with celebrities. They often pay to meet with celebrities.

They are not discouraged by the fares they would pay to meet celebrities though they might end up paying but not seeing them.

Some are trampled upon, abused, insulted over the monies they paid some may even lose valuable items or their lives.

Those who heed to the call to come into the house of God can be assured of God's presence and covering.

Imagine how your friends feel when they invited you to their social engagements but you failed to go.

If earthly people could feel bad when you failed to honour their invitation how do you think the Lord would feel if you turned down an invitation to come and fellowship with Him?

Never feel too bothered or troubled when you are invited into the house of God. Be glad you are being discipled by people who are already discipled.

Never be frustrated when you invite those who do not know God when they resist your invitation. Be encouraged and glad to gladden their hearts to belong to God.

*Remorse corner.*

As you are well grounded? Invite someone. As you were glad to come along so they should be glad to follow you.

*Call to Word action.*

When you have a home in God's house you will have the courage and liberality to invite others.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

We were glad to come into the house of the Lord. Our invitation can make others glad when we invite them to come into the house of God.

*Prayer.*

Lord, let the hearts of people be gladdened as l invite them into Your house in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.

Shalom.
