Knowledge is power, only when it is rightly applied.
Some people know there is God but do not know who God is.
Scripture Commentaries
There is a saying that goes "knowledge is power." This is true.
It is however truer to admit that "knowledge is power when it is rightly applied". Only the right application of knowledge gives knowledge power.
What are you doing with the knowledge you have received?
Knowing God is knowledge, knowing how He feels is the right application of the knowledge of God.
You cannot claim to know God and refuse to retain Him in your thoughts and ways. To some people, knowledge is made available but they reject it and refuse to retain it, Rom 1:28.
There are people who say they know God but do not accept Jesus as His Son, (ref 1 John 5:10).
This category of people is tantamount to saying: "there is a God but they do not know who God is and refuse to know who He is".
These people will perish, if they fail to repent, because of their lack of knowledge, Hosea 4:6.
Daniel says those who know their God shall be strong and they will carry out great exploits, Daniel 11:32. (ref 1 John 4:15).
When ignorance is wilful, it is regarded as a lack of reverence, piety to God.
The Prophet Haggai says people who wilfully reject God will have problems before Him. They will have problems "....because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land." Hosea 4:1.
If you know there is a God in the Heavens, seek to know who He is, Phil 3;10.
Remorse corner
Knowledge without God is just as bad as no knowledge.
Call to Word action
The only knowledge that works for the practical purposes of life is the knowledge of God.
Prov 2:5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.
The Christian clarion duty
The only knowledge worth having, and which is of avail for the practical purposes of life, is the knowledge of God.
Prayer
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Lord, give me the highest of all gifts, even eternal life itself, to know God, the Giver of all good things, in Jesus name.
