YOU CAN REGAIN LOST OPPORTUNITIES

1 Sam 30:8 And David inquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.

Insight and Highlight Timely and fervent prayers give us the privilege to buy back what we have lost. Eph 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Scripture Commentaries David faced an unprovoked, unfortunate, and aggressive attack from the Amalekites who had raided the Negev and Ziklag. They had attacked Ziklag and burned it. Though no one was killed, much devastation by fire was left. David and others' families were taken away captive. David prayed God, helped him, 1 Sam 30:7. He pursued, overtook, and recovered all.

When we pray, God changes things for us. As we see in God's response to David's prayer, He helped him to bring back his losses, he recovered all, 1 Sam 30: 20. We can learn that though the days may be evil, God can help us to redeem the time.

Jesus warns us in Matt 6:34 saying "....sufficient onto the day is the evil thereof" He tells us nothing is impossible for us if we can fast and pray, ref Matt 17: 20-21. If we respond in a timely manner and pray to God, we can buy back what was lost. We can buy back our lost and shattered the peace. Remember, though the days are evil, we can redeem the time if we are walking in the will of God. Remorse corner Do not be passive. You may have lost a vital opportunity. Remember however if you can respond in a timely manner through prayers, you can pursue, overtake and recover, as David did. Call to Word action Sincere prayer gives us the opportunity to redeem anything. David delivered the prey from the mighty. Isaiah 49: 25 But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. The Christian clarion duty One of the most precious treasures God has given us is time. We must always know we must not lose valuable time. Though we may do, God wants us to know we can regain lost glory the evil times had robbed us of. Prayer Lord, help me to overcome each passing day trusting that you will lead me not into temptation but deliver me from evil. Help me to buy back what the evil day has stolen from me, in Jesus name.
