Psalm 121:4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

Insight and Highlight

Matthew 13:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

Scripture Commentaries

Sleep is a state of rest. Not everyone gets to sleep well. It is God's will that we sleep, Psalm 127:2 says "...for so he giveth his beloved sleep."

While sleep is good for us, too much of it or less of it can be fatal both physically and spiritually.

Physically? Prov 6:9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?

Spiritually? Matt 13:25 But while men slept, his enemy came...."

During sleep, destinies may be brightened or made shallow.

Battles of life are majorly lost when a believer sleeps "a sleep of death".

God's sovereignty is best illustrated by His power over slumber or sleep.

He is a great and impeccable Watcher over our souls.

This explains why His eyes are to and fro 2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself.

God sees you
