Insight and Highlight
Be not anxious about tomorrow that you do not enjoy today. A frivolous lifestyle is not, enjoying life but a life lived as if you never lived.
Only in Jesus will life be enjoyably meaningful.
Scripture Commentaries
Life has its troubles. We were born into these troubles. Job 5:7 Yet man is born unto trouble,...."
Eccl 1:8 says All things are full of labour..."
The truth however is we brought nothing and certainly nothing is going with us, 1 Tim 6:7.
As the Preacher records "... and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun…"
Eccl 2:11, 26.
Despite life's futility, everyone is weighed down by what and what not life can offer.
Lives are lost in the pursuit of life's needs, wants, and cares. Key of which is children, money, etc. Money is spent to give the lives lost befitting burials.
The very reason a dead man lost his life is the source and answer to giving him a memorial through burial rites etc.
It is easier said than done to heed to taking a day at a time but no one takes a day at a time. Many are no longer living in the present and have lost hope of their tomorrow.
Be careful you do not do more than you can do. We must never live as if we are here indefinitely. Though life has its troubles, we are still enjoined to enjoy it, as useless as it may appear.
Jesus knew we cannot carry it all alone, Ps 55:22, Matt 11:28,
Surrender your life to Him. He only has solutions! In Him is life, its fullness and there is life's pleasure in Him.
Do you want to enjoy life?
Be on His right hand: Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
Remorse corner
If God approves of you, you will enjoy life and it will not be in vain. He can give you life, more abundantly, John 10:10.
Call to Word action
Eccl 9:7-8 So go eat your food ·and enjoy it with gladness: drink your wine ·and be happy, with a glad heart because ·that is what God wants you to do when God approves your deeds.
Put on ·nice clothes and make yourself look good, Do not spare oil on your head.
The Christian clarion duty
Many have died having really not lived.
Nothing to show for a life lived.
Be not be anxious about tomorrow that you lose your today.
Prayer
Lord, help me to enjoy the life You have given me, in Jesus name.
