Genesis 22:2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
Insight and Highlight
If God is asking you to give Him something, it is because He knows you have it.
Scripture Commentaries
God cannot lack, He cannot be exhausted or run dry, Psalm 50:9-13. He is all-sufficient. He is more than enough to adequately supply all the needs of His creation.
Whatever He needs, He already created. If ever He needed anything, He will create it, John 1:3.
Until He gave Isaac to Abraham, He did not ask for his sacrifice, Gen 22:2.
He did not ask for the sacrifice of the ram whose horns were locked in the thickets until He provided it for Abraham, Gen 22:13.
A lesson from the life of Abraham illustrates God will never ask from you what He has not given to you.
There is no excuse for not giving God what He is asking from you.
Do not hold back what God requested from you because He knows you have it.
