DOES YOUR HEART CONDEMN YOU?

Updated: Jan 6, 2022

1 John 3:19-21 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart and knoweth all things.

Beloved, if our heart condemns us not, then have we confidence toward God.

Insight and Highlight

1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Scripture Commentaries

Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

The law is weak in the flesh because sometimes, children of men only obey the law for fear of punishment. In most cases they care less about the consequences of breaking the law.

This is because the law cannot change the hearts of men only the works of the Spirit can do a renewal and cleansing of the heart of men, Rom 12:2, 2 Cor 3:6.

Jesus warns of God's retributive judgment:

Jesus warned one of His companions not to take laws into his hands: Matthew 26:52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

Summary execution has not solved murder but working on rehabilitating people has proved workable, how much more if the Spirit of God is allowed to have His way.

Thou shall not kill, as the 5th commandment, did not stop people from killing in the days of Moses, talkless today.

Despite, penalties for murder people still killed, even king David violated the law, so it was in the days of Moses, Gen 9:6, Exd 21:12, 2 Sam 11.

If the law or issued directives are applied to our consciences, the law will work.

The commandments of God are His laws. They have not changed.

Jesus said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil."

God brought Jesus that He may impress the fear of the law in the hearts of the people.

The law is not the problem, the problem is the people.

Obey the law for conscience sake.

Romans 9:1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost.

Does your conscience bear witness to the Holy Ghost? Does your heart condemn you?

Make corrections, immediately!

Remorse corner

Romans 13:4-5 The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. ...So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience.

Call to Word action

Sin brought the law, Rom 4:15. Yet it could not solve the problem, so Jesus brought the Spirit to bring righteousness to as many that walk in the Spirit.

Jesus came "That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. Rom 8:4.

The Christian clarion duty

Eccl 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Prayer

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Lord give me life in the Spirit, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
