1 Cor 4:7 For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?
Insight and Highlight
When you are envious, you are ungrateful to God.
Scripture Commentaries
When you are envious, it is unlikely you will thank God for making you who you are. You will always see others as better than yourself.
This makes you think contrary to God's plan and purposes for your life.
The presence of envy in a person's life, is a sign of carnality, ref 1 Cor 3:3. You become carnal in your thoughts. You live a flesh-dominated life.
You limit yourself and God's expectation thinking God has not done enough for you as He has done for the person you are envying.
God has made you beautiful, stay in your lane!, ref Psalm 139:14.
Remorse corner
Comparing self is the root of all envy. It is not wise to do so, ref 2 Cor 10:12.
So avoid comparing yourself.
Call to Word action
Gal 6: 4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
The Christian clarion duty
Is there anyone near you excelling in life? Do not envy him but get close, make friends with him/her asking for the secret of his success story. Learn from it and improve your life.
Prayer
Lord, help me to live a life of contentment, in Jesus name.
Good morning all and have a blessed day today.
God bless you.
