ESTEEMING OTHERS...BETTER THAN YOURSELF (2)

Updated: Feb 11, 2022

1 Cor 4:10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.

Insight and Highlight

Appreciate and honor others. If you show others your own goodwill, you will receive theirs.

Scripture Commentaries

Crime is prevalent in our world, today because people do not feel for each other. As a result, our judicial system tends to terminate offenders rather than rehabilitate them.

Under the law, an offender who breaks the law is punishable. It is required by the law of justice that they suffer in return.

True justice is when judgment meted on the offender for the crime committed is proportional to the offense.

At times justice is not given, is misplaced or judgment is not proportional to the offense committed.

If we esteem others better than we are, life will be a better place. We will change people rather than terminate them.

Human beings can be very inhumane.

God shows us perfect examples of due consideration to each other.

First, His love constrains Him from marking iniquity when He wants to, Psalm 130:3.

Second, His love constrains Him from judging us according to our sins, Psalm 103:10

Third, He does not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men, Lam 3:33.

Forth, He punishes offenders (1 Sam:12-14) but with the ultimate hope of restoration, Hosea 6:1-3, Zech 1:3, Mal 3:7.

He still remains merciful (Rom 9:15. He may choose to defer punishment (1 Kgs 21:29), He may choose to mitigate punishment, Gen 4:13.

He is retributive only to those who resist Him, Prov 1:26-28, Isaiah 13:11.

Always remember, Heb 13:1 Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.

Remorse corner

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Call to Word action

Psalm 25:8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

The Christian clarion duty

Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Prayer

Lord, help me do to others as l would have them do to me, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
