If we are to win with God and men we must be willing to persevere in asking, in prayer, 1 Kgs 18:44.
God honors perseverance. Jesus, says we ask till our joy is full, John 16:24.
Jesus illustrated persistent asking that eventually results in receiving Luke 11:8 I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.
Jacob was too desperate not to receive what he wanted.
Let me not give up in the place of prayer.
Always remember, God, honors perseverance, especially in our seeking of Him.

Call to Word action
Jesus, in the parable of the unjust judge, said in Luke 18:1 "..that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.
The Christian clarion duty
When you persevere in seeking God, Jesus assures us in the parable of the unjust judge Luke 18:7 "And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
Prayer
Lord, let me have victory with You and with men give me victory. Avenge for me speedily, in Jesus name.
