*WISDOM FOR TODAY*
*WHEN ZERO BECOMES HERO.*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Rom 6:8 *Now, if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:*
*Insight and Highlight.*
By dying, we live. In dying, we have life.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Zero is a state of nothingness.
When we come to Christ, we start at a ground zero, a place or point where important changes of transformation and renewal begin to happen or start happening. At this point, we must absent ourselves of self, a state in which we totally empty ourselves so that God may fill us.
If we do not empty ourselves, there is nothing for God to fill.
When we do, we are made full in Christ.
We must know these at our ground zero.
First, in living for ourselves without Christ, we die. Matthew 16:25 says *For whosoever will save his life shall lose it:...*
In dying to self, we live. Matthew 16:25b says, *"....whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.*
2 Tim 2:11 says *This is a trustworthy saying: If we died with Him, we will also live with Him;*
Second, everyone called by Christ is called to a life of sacrifice. Dead men do not talk.
No one comes to Christ without the willingness to lose something in order to win Christ.
Normally, anything sacrificed has no more life in it, but in Christ, when a soul is sacrificed, he lives.
Paul says in Rom 12:2 *....ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.*
John the Baptist, Paul, the twelve disciples became nothing for Christ to make them somebody. Ordinary men became extraordinary.
Third, besides being zero before God, we also zero in on Him.
We zero in on Christ to gain and give prominence to Christ in order to be a hero and champion for Him. Paul became weak for the sake of the weak. He made himself a slave to everyone. He did these in order to win for Christ
When we zero in on Christ, we direct all of our attention to Him and to Him alone. Heb 12:2 says *',....Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;...*
Colossians 3:2 *Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
If you do not zero in on Christ, you can not focus. Heb 10:38 says *...but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.*
Have you emptied yourself or are full of yourself?
*Remorse corner.*
A life of Christ is a life of sacrifice. You must be willing to give up something that is valuable to you in order to profit the Kingdom of God.
*Call to Word action.*
Jesus became nothing before God so that you may be somebody.
His appearance was disfigured beyond that of any man, and His form was marred beyond human likenes (Isaiah 52:14).
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Zero yourself before God so that you may be a hero for Him.
*Payer.*
Lord, help me *'.....to count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,*, in Jesus name. (Philipians 3:8.)
Good morning all, and be blessed as you come into His presence today.
God bless you.
