*YOU CAN NOT OUTLIVE LIFE.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Mark 8:36 *For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?*

*Insight and Highlight.*

No one can outlive life.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

We must never live this life as if we are not going to leave it.

We must live it knowing we would leave it any day.

Jesus teaches that what we strive for in life will outlive us and may last many generations but we who strove to earn it in life, either we live short live or long live (Solomon says even if *".....he lives a thosand years twice...."*) will still not live enough to enjoy it.

Everything earned in this life will stay in this life to end here also.

Solomon says in Eccl 6: 1-6 *There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men:*

*A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease.*

*If a man beget an hundred children, and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not filled with good, and also that he have no burial; I say, that an untimely birth is better than he.*

*For he cometh in with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness.*

*Moreover he hath not seen the sun, nor known any thing: this hath more rest than the other.*

*Yea, though he live a thousand years twice told, yet hath he seen no good: do not all go to one place?*

In Eccl 5:13-16, he writes: *There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt.*

*But those riches perish by evil travail: and he begetteth a son, and there is nothing in his hand.*

*As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand.*

*And this also is a sore evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit hath he that hath laboured for the wind?*

From the foregoing, Solomon is saying that not all rich people really enjoy life as many people would think they would and not many rich people in their lives have their wishes fulfilled in the inheritance they left their children. Their children end up with nothing and someone whom they did not know would inherit them ( Eccl 5:14, 2:18-19, and 6:2). Solomon concludes that all their labour would be in vain.

Solomon teaches us to be careful about life citing life has a *".....grievous evil..."* highlighting the futility of chasing material possessions.

Instead of focusing on material accumulation, Solomon advises that the best a person can do is to find satisfaction in their work, eat, drink, and enjoy the fruits of their labor as a gift from God and fear God, Eccl 12:13.

Jesus teaches in Mark 8:36 *For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?*

Jesus is teaching that there is nothing anyone could possibly give to buy back their soul once it is lost.

There is nothing anyone could give in exchange for their soul.

It is better to lose anything selfish that would prevent your soul ending in hell.

Anyone who ends up in hell would have lived a wasted life, rich or poor.

Anyone who ends up in heaven would have only lost his life but has not wasted his life.

*Remorse corner.*

Life is temporary. It will outlive you.

Where you will end up (that is, your eternal destination) will not outlive you neither will you outlive it.

Either heaven or hell (eternal destination) will determine where you will live eternally.

*Call to Word action.*

Guard your soul. Whatever is lost in life can be regained but nothing can be exchanged for a lost soul.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Do not waste your soul!

*Prayer.*

Lord help me not to live life in a way that will end me up in hell, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.

Shalom.
