Psalm 126: 1, 3-4 When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south.
Insight and Highlight
The prince of this world, the devil, is always on the walk, coming to find reasons why he should bring us back into captivity.
John 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
Scripture Commentaries
The children of Zion had just experienced an unexplainable intervention from the LORD. An intervention, though much-awaited, was like a dream.
However, a prayer request followed immediately, Psalm 126:4 Turn again our captivity, O Lord,..... The children of Zion called on the LORD to restore their captives, again.
One would have thought the captivity was over!
The answer is found in the continual and unceasing terror, oppositions, and oppression of Satan's encroachment into humans' affairs and lives.
The arch-enemy does not rest, 1 Pet 5:8. He is undaunted, stubborn and will not rest until his influences are totally destroyed.
Remember, when the devil had ended all the temptation of Jesus, Luke 4:13 says he departed from him for a season.
The most dangerous time for the believer is to rest after a victory or cease praying after victory.
Every day is warfare because of the evil that presents itself on the given day.
Remorse corner
The believer must be proactive in prayer.
Take charge by controlling a situation before they happen rather than responding to it after it had happened.
The Christian clarion duty
Jesus taught us to pray that we are not led into temptation and be delivered from the evil that is associated with temptation, even when we have not been led into it.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil…" Matt. 6: 13.
Prayer
Luke 21:36 Watch ye, therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Lord, help me to watch and pray. Secure my victory, in Jesus' name.
