THE STRENGTH OF WEAKNESS

2 Kgs 7:3-4– And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?

If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also.

Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.

Insight and Highlight

Weakness: we never pray for it, yet we never lack it. Though it comes, God can use it to make all things work together for good for those who love Him, Rom 8:28.

Scripture Commentaries

There is nothing God cannot use to achieve and advance His plans and purposes, Numb 22: 21-33, Joel, 2:25, 2 Pet 2:16,

Whatever situation we find ourselves, we ought to prepare because duty may come, calling, Esther 4:14.

If only you believe God created you for a divine appointment, you will see an appointment in every seemingly dissapointng situation that presents itself to you.

Always remember, whatever God allows for you, it is for a Divine purpose and He can use the most despicable, deplorable people or things of nature.

Throughout the scriptures, God has shown us He can use irremarkable people to achieve remarkable things and ordinary people to achieve extraordinary things.

Four lepers, frail yet ambitious, defenseless yet combat ready became vessels of honor ready for the Master's use to save Samaria from their sore famine, 2 Kings 7:3-5.

Since they were bold and ready, God went ahead to make "...the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us."– 2 Kgs 7:5.

Lepers, who do not enter into cities, ref Numb 5:2, went to the king's palace, spread the good news and Samaria's years of drought were turned into overabundance within a day!, 2 Kings 7:9-16.

In addition to the four lepers used to fulfill Elisha's prophecy in 2 Kings 7: 1-2, 18-20,

the little maid; who waited on Naaman the leper's wife in 2 Kgs 5:2 is another example of how God can use the most despised people to fulfil His word.

Never despise anyone, today. He may be the one God will ultimately use for you tomorrow.

Remorse corner

Never despise God's Word. The more it sounds impossible to believe, the more possible it will be.

Call to Word action

2 Cor 12: 10– Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong

In weakness, there is strength and you can find strength in weakness. You cannot be so weak that you cannot be made strong, by His grace.

The Christian clarion duty

Never be sidelined by your frailties or weaknesses. You may look at yourself as most unlikely vessel, do remember, however, that the Lord often calls the least likely individuals to defend His name and minister to His people.

Prayer

Lord, l declare myself available for your use. Give me the grace to be made strong when l am weak, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
