PRAYING IN PRAISE

1 Sam 2:1  And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the Lord, mine horn is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.

Insight and Highlight

A prayerful heart is a praiseful heart.

Scripture Commentaries

The scripture records two major occasions when valiant children of God thanked God through praiseful adoration.

First in Judges 5:1 Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,

Exd 15:1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

On each occasion, scripture begins with

"Then sang" but in Hannah's chronicles, Samuel records Hannah prayed.

Part of Hannah's prayer is one of many songs of today namely: 1 Sam 2:2 There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.

Whether you choose to pray or sing or through inspirations of tongues, scripture says forms of prayers are not static and we can speak to God through different ways as long as they are inspired in Christ.

Eph 5:19  Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

Remember, Ephesians 6:18  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Which way will you pray to praise or hymn to sing or praise to pray to God today?

Remorse corner

Psalm 95:2 Let us enter His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him in song.

Call to Word action

1 Cor 14:15 What then shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind. I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind.

The Christian clarion duty

Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

Prayer

Lord, lead me to prayer and praise that will be acceptable to you today, in Jesus' name.

Good morning all and be blessed as you come into His presence on this Thanksgiving Sunday.

God bless you
