*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*LIFE AND LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY (4).*
*Scripture Treasure.*
2 Cor 3:5 *Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Life is insufficient. No one can attain satisfaction to fullness by himself without Christ.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Life is insufficient to live anymore. You probably hear some people say twenty-four hours are not enough for a day, so some may say it is too long.
You can never have all you want, how much more what you need. It must be the reason why God gave eternity in Heaven for His beloved to live forever. He gives eternal rest from all earthly labour for them, Rev 14:13.
God's intention was that we have life, no death, having all things, but this was aborted, Gen 3.
Life more abundantly is the only answer that could give us the life God intended for us at the beginning.
Though physical death is not negotiable, Jesus promises that we will have a hundredfold here and even in life to come.
Mark 10:29-30 says *And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,*
*But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.*
Mark is saying that in this life, receiving more than every other person by way of a hundredfold is only available for those who have Jesus. This is living life more abundantly.
Having no extra is for those who, though, are living in the same life, are not Jesus'.
Paul further explains that the sufficiency of living life more abundantly is extended to things more than riches.
No matter how rich or having things at our disposal, nothing can ever be enough to satisfy our hunger and thirst.
Solomon teaches us that while living in poverty is miserable and living in wealth is a privilege, neither is a guarantee to abundant life.
Solomon was the richest in his time, yet he admitted that life was just life. It was just life of toil and dissatisfaction.
Eccl 1:8 *All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.*
Everything is futile.
Eccl 4:8 there is *"...... no end of all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches;..."*
Eccl 5:10,11 *He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity….."*
No matter how we labour to be rich, our eyes can never be satisfied.
Prov 27:20 says *Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.
Paul was telling the Corinthians that competence, qualifications, skills, abilities, and knowledge are not enough for anyone, including himself, to believe in themselves of worthy of any credit.
The Apostle who once wrote that he has reason for confidence in the flesh more than anyone, ref Phillpn 3:4-6, now says his and others' sufficiency is of God.
Remember, while life is insufficient, God is sufficient.
*Remorse corner.*
We may be living in the same life, but those who live in Christ live life more abundantly.
*Call to Word action.*
God is the sufficiency of those who live life more abundantly, 2 Cor 3:5.
*The Christian clarion duty.*
A life lived more abundantly is telling us that
God has unlimited resources that can never be exhausted.
Whatever you have now that you consider too much is just a portion of His overflowing abundance.
*Prayer.*
Lord, let me live life more abundantly.
Be my sufficiency, in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
