*LAST-MINUTE REPENTANCE?*

*Scripture Treasure.*

2 Cor 6:2  *(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Salvation today is better than any hope of last-minute repentance. Salvation today is sure. The hope to repent at the last minute is not guaranteed.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Some people erroneously believe they can get away with lives of wickedness, unrepentance, and abominations by a last-minute repentance before they die.

You do not know if you would have last days.

People die suddenly.

In these series we will look at an in-depth study of the importance of the joy of salvation rather than people's common beliefs that someone can live a life of wickedness, killing people and hope to attain salvation paving way for him/her to eternal life with Christ while his/her dead victims who did not have Christ would have ended in hell.

Victims of witches/wizards may end up in hell if they did not know Jesus before they died but witches/wizards who persist in evil yet are in the Church hearing God's word who hope for last minute repentance may not receive God's approval.

The center point of these series is a full understanding of the danger of sinning after knowing the truth of God's word against sin.

Heb 10:26-27 says;

*For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,*

*But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.*

God makes it clear that anyone who has received or heard the word of God but continue to sin should not expect to get away by some last minute repentance (that is even if they ever have this opportunity).

Paul says there is no more *'.......sacrifice for sins....."*

Such people know and have heard how God feels about sin. There are people who know the consequences of their sins and know how God feels, yet they sin, hoping they would later repent unto salvation.

Some of these people do this for a considerable time of their lives.

They continue in sin, hoping grace would still abound, Rom 6:1.

Paul further reminds us that *"He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:*

*Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?* Heb 10:28-29.

Paul implied that God would not be quiet. You can not trample on God and hope He would do nothing.

Paul said, *For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.*, Heb 10:30.

Paul expresses why we must never treat God with contempt.

He said *It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.* Heb 10:31

The truth makes us free, John 8:32. It is not negotiable, and we must not pretend we do not know it.

Shut the mouth of those who echo to you that God is not vengeful as people say He is.

Ps 47:2 says He is terrible.

Hebrews 6:4-6, which tells us that there can be the impossibility of renewal to repentance for those who fall away.

There is a danger for those who backslide and for those who know the truth and the consequences of their sins.

Both the church goer and the one who claims to have Jesus hear the same message.

When the one who continuously hear the word of God and he along with the one who once was a child of God fail to heed the word of God, they would be rejecting the only means of salvation.

Think about the consequences of your actions and how God feels about them rather than hope for a last-minute repentance!

*Remorse corner.*

Be saved today!

*Call to Word action.*

Stop rebelling against God. There are consequences of willful sin. Fear God.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Do not let me lose my salvation to willful sin, pressure, or persecution.

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me. Deliver me from deliberate and willful sin, in Jesus name

Good morning, all, and be blessed as you come into His presence.

God bless you.
