*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*IGNORANCE (3).*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Prov 15:14 *The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Prov 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
When people enjoy and justify knowing nothing, they often think what they know is sufficient for them, and they are happy with it.
This group of people may be educated or illiterate, and their mindset or watchword is 'ignorance is bliss'.
While some unlearned or uneducated or the educated may try to improve themselves, this category of ignorance tells us that there are people who care less whether or not they know anything.
They fail to know that knowledge is strength and is power
Prov 24:5: *A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.*
They have no delight in knowledge.
They prefer not to know anything because, according to them, knowing nothing can prevent stress, anxiety, or worry.
They tell themselves that what they do not know, they do not worry about.
They are peaceful with knowing nothing.
They are satisfied with the little they know.
They are content believing that knowing something or anything new could jeopardize or distort what they already know even if the knowledge they ought to know is necessary or positive.
Solomon says in Prov 18:2: *A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.*
People in this category believe that potential problems they do not know about will not hurt or harm them.
They forget that knowledge is a life-saver and is a healer of time
Isaiah 33:6-8 *And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.*
1 Chro 12:32 tells us that the knowledge in the children of Issachar gave them insight,
perspective and understanding of time and life's challenges.
They had healing effects of redeeming their time ahead of evil.
Their knowledge provided clarity and understanding, allowing Israel to view time and life's both present and future events with hope. It provided them with courage and a positive outlook to the future.
Daniel says there will be an exponential growth of knowledge, so we must not neglect but take good advantage of this.
Daniel 12:4 *".....even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.*
Acquiring knowledge and chanelling it in God's knowledge will not harm you.
If you think acquiring knowledge or limiting yourself to what you know is a waste of time, you can be lost in your generation.
There is nothing blissful about ignorance!
*Remorse corner.*
Being unaware of knowledge in critical situations can be dangerous.
*Call to Word action.*
Wilful neglect or uncaring attitude of knowledge can also lead to missed opportunities, a lack of preparedness.
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Intentional avoidance or a choice not to know is as bad as complete illiteracy.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to make use of knowledge.
Do not let me be comfortable with ignorance, in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and be blessed as you go today.
God bless you.
Shalom.
