*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*A DILLIGENT AND PURE HEART.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Psalm 24:9-11

*Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.*

*With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.*

*Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

When the heart is corrupt, the whole being is dead.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

The bible describes the heart as the seat of our thoughts and emotions.

Prov 4:23 says *Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.*

The heart is the lifeline of the human body.

It is essential for human survival.

Maintaining heart health is crucial for our overall well-being.

While the brain remains the control center of all bodily operation, the heart maintains and sustains it. Without its functioning, the brain can not receive what it needs to survive.

It is a central point where life begins and ends, yet the bible describes it as the most dangerous and corrupt because

it is difficult to know and discern.

It is the most hidden, and most people, if not all, do not know what goes on in it.

It is the source of human deceitfulness of motives and desires.

Jesus tells us that the evil a man does has been planned in his heart all along, Mk 7:21-23.

It is not straightforward, honest, and dependable.

The great lesson is that the corruption of the heart is not something that can be fixed through human effort alone.

Jer 17:9 tells us *The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?*

Jeremiah teaches us that knowing each others' hearts will be a struggle because it is too deep to know anyone's true intentions.

It is desperately wicked because it is very quick to do evil.

Jer 17:10 teaches us that children of men themselves may not be able to understand the sinful push of their hearts because we are all born with the propensity to sin.

So Jeremiah tells us that only God can know the heart and reward everyone according to how good or bad they have done.

He is the only one who can truly know and discern the state of the human heart.

Reliance on God is the only way to know the heart of man.

Jeremiah writes *l the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.*

There is a need for reliance on God for wisdom and grace.

As the heart can be likened to a crooked, polluted, or corrupt nature making it difficult to trust its inner workings, so David teaches that if we fill our hearts with the word of God, every human inability will receive God's ability to work righteousness, Ps 119:9-11.

Just as we must maintain the heart by adopting healthy lifestyle choices like balanced diets and regular exercises, and avoid harmful habits so also we must maintain our hearts with healthy spiritual virtues. (Contrast the Fruit of the Spirit and the works of the flesh, Gal 5:22-23; 5: 19-26).

Philipians 4:8 teaches us to cultivate a mindset that is focused on God's character and values rather than worldly things.

John 2:25 says Jesus knows the heart of man. He is able to know the inner thoughts and intentions of everyone, even beyond their outward actions.

It is dangerous to trust or place too much on ourselves. The strong force to do evil is present with us and only a life of the Spirit will resist it, Gal 5:16-17.

Since only God knows what is in your heart, it is most dangerous to think or plan what is not good.

Besides the eventual thoughts that will be made open to all, your evil heart will prevent you from seeing God or being part of any of His.

Psalm 24:3-5 tells us that what goes on in your heart will determine your altitude and your reward with God.

David writes:

*Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?*

*He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.*

*He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.*

Cleanse your heart. There is no use of the evil you keep in your heart since it will be made known to all, Eccl 12:4.

It is either what you keep secret, when exposed, will enhance your relationship with others or destroy it.

This month, let your heart seek God diligently. You need the cleansing and purity.

*Remorse corner.*

A heart that seeks God will house God.

*Call to Word action.*

Reliance on God's guidance and wisdom, as He alone can truly know and understand any human's heart.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

You will not sin if you feed and hide the word of God in your heart.

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me to as l seek You this month for a cleansing. Let my heart be pure in Jesus name.

Good morning all and a happy New month of June, our month of *THE DILLIGENT AND PURE HEART.*

Be blessed as you come into His presence.

God bless you.

Shalom.
