.....IF I BE A MAN OF GOD....(4)

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*..IF I BE A MAN OF GOD...(4)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

1 kgs 17: 24 And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in thy mouth is truth.

*Insight and Highlight.*

God will not disappoint His own.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

We are all creations of God. While we struggle with faith or while our faith often momentarily fails, the same goes with the man of God, but God will not disappoint him.

Who mostly works for him is God, who will not subject him to ridicule knowing the minds of the people he is overseeing or ministering to.

The son of the mistress of the house

*".....fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.*

The *'.....mistress of the house...."*

immediately lashed out at Elijah over the death of her son, 1 Kgs 17:17

This woman. presumed here to be the widow of Zarephath is an example of who anyone of us could be.

We can be so self occupied that we vent our disappointments on others. If something does not look good, it is the fault of others. The woman asked

Elijah, *"What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?* 1 Kgs 17:18.

Elijah, too, was worried, but his faith to revert to God for solution was stronger than his worries.

To show how human the man of God was, he cried to God *"....and said, O Lord my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?* 1 Kgs 17:20.

God heard him, came to his rescue, and the widow's son was revived, 1 Kgs 17:21-22.

Elijah had proved four things here

First, he was a man of God.

Second, truly things happen according to his spoken word.

Third, the man of God may at a point not know what God would do, but God knows what He would do to save the man of God.

Fourth, there are sudden transformations that can occur in a matter of seconds in the life of God's vessel. The same Elijah that appeared to be blameable suddenly changed.

Elijah had transfigured. Within a moment, he was no more 'human' but now in the realm of the supernatural.

All natural likeness of a mere man was suspended. God had come down. The unexpected, the unpredictable, and the miraculous had happened.

Truly, *"....if l be a man of God..."* did not come from Elijah, but God had made the woman testify to what everyone already knew through God's miraculous deed.

Elijah brought the son back to the widow and said, *"See, thy son liveth.*

*And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in thy mouth is truth.*, 1 Kgs 17:23-24.

True men and women of God transfigure in a twinkling of an eye through the miracles they do.

They are capable of stepping in and out of the spiritual and supernatural realm to come back to their normal selves as fellow brethren doing the usual things with us.

Be proud in the Lord to confidently make things happen as a man of God!

God is waiting to prove you as His own!

When others doubt, the man of God should not doubt. He must know the power God has given him and that God is able to prove that he is a man of God.

When Elijah was saying *....If l be a man of God..*, he was not doubting he was a man of God. He was simply saying that he was a man of God!

The same goes for the man and woman of God, God knows as His!.

*Remorse corner.*

The widow's doubt of Elijah may have appeared reasonable to the human mind, but God proved it is unreasonable to doubt what He can do through the man of God.

*Call to Word action.*

When our doubts appear reasonable, God will prove to us that it is unreasonable to doubt what He can do without any reason through the man of God

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Do not doubt what God can do.

*Prayer.*

Lord, help my faith as a vessel of God, in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
