WISDOM FOR TODAY.
DREAMS (8).
Scripture Treasure.
Ps 74:9 We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.
Insight and Highlight.
Visions have always been in existence and should not cease in your own time.
Scripture Commentaries.
We still continue our study of dreams, visions, and aspirations.
While we know that God wants us to be a people of vision, we can be stagnated in two ways, namely, when God does not give us vision or through His prophets (Ps 74:9) and when we are limited by laid down family traditions, religious beliefs, etc, which affect our abilities to be visionary.
Yesterday, we looked at the Rechabites.
We want to look closer because though they would not drink wine as God had commanded them, God did not count this as a disobedience to Him, but He blessed them instead.
What was God saying or teaching us?
Did the decision of the Rechabites in obeying their fathers justify disobeying God?
Why would God bless a people who disobeyed Him? Is it not better to obey God than men? Acts 5:29.
While the Rechabite became an exemplary illustration of obedience, we must remember that the blessing of God upon the Rechabites has not excluded their responsibilities of accepting and doing what God has freely given them.
While God blesses us, He has not excluded our shared responsibilities to ensure the blessings manifest in our lives. In every blessing, there is a required participation to accelerate or make the blessing do its work, Deut 28:1-15
While God's blessing is not without its condition, the blessing resting upon our lives is not without our cooperation and willingness to succeed.
He works in us and through us to fulfill His will, Philpn 2:13.
Though God used the obedience to their father as a contrast to the disobedience of His own people, God still remains the perfect example of One who gave His children all they want and did not limit their abilities to dream and see visions in their time, Joel 2:21, Prov 29;18
It remains true that no parents should have the power to determine the lives of their children in all things as to which God hath left them a liberty or else they will take away their liberties and make them slaves in their generation and generations to come.
Therefore, in as much as you inherit family traditions, legacies, and Will of inheritance, etc, you are at liberty to develop your own visions, aspirations, legacies of what you wish to be in life and what you wish to pass on to other generations.
You should have a vision, and nothing should limit you from having it.
Do not live on other people's vision.
Guard against influences like generational influences, family traditions and beliefs, religious constraints, fraternity constraints, etc. They all can affect your outlook and visions.
You must work yourself out of limitations.
Remorse corner.
God will always bring vision that will be compatible with our everyday situation. He makes things beautiful in its time.
Call to Word action.
Eccl 3:11: He hath made everything beautiful in his time....."
The Christian clarion duty.
You can improve on old visions and make it new. The Rechabites could do this. God makes the old new and makes new every day, Rev 21:5, Is 42:9.
Prayer.
Lord, let me see anew. Let me not live in the past, in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day today.
God bless you.
