GOD CAN NEVER MAKE A MISTAKE(3)

Jer 20:7-9 ►   O Lord, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived; thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.

For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the Lord was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.

Insight and Highlight

When we are tested, God's redemptive plan and integrity are also put to test.

Scripture Commentaries

God had called Jeremiah as a young man but Jeremiah counted himself too young, ref Jer 1: 5-6.

God had promised him deliverance (Jer 1:8) but now in his predicaments, he was doubting, if God would deliver him as He had promised.

The prophet was imprisoned and mocked. Our scripture of today expresses a remarkable account of the prophet's predicament- charging God with deception!

This, of course, is one thing God cannot do. God cannot lie, Rom 3:4, Heb 6:18.

John the Baptist, when imprisoned, asked if Christ was "...he that should come, or do we look for another? ► Matt 11:3

He made this remark because Jesus had not come to him in prison as he had expected.

What many of us fail to know is that when God tests us, His integrity is also at stake.

He wants you to prove to Satan that come what may, you will not sin against Him, curse or disobey Him.

Those, He chooses do not lose their heads neither do they cause offenses or behave foolishly. Jeremiah, immediately, in reverent submission, rendered supplications and praises to God ► Jer 20: 11-13.

Bible says of Apostle Paul in Acts 9:15-16 ► "...for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name...For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.

Paul did suffer, even with physical afflictions yet he and other faithful kept a cool head.

In spite of Job’s sufferings, the bible says in

Job 1:22 ► In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

Job vindicated God and God's integrity was affirmed.

Job, truly feared God, and Satan was put to shame. Job 42:7, 10-17.

God still looks up to His own, do not let Him down.

Prayer

Lord, do not regret you chose me. Let me live up to your expectations of me, in Jesus' name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
