*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*GOD (3).*

*Scripture Treasure.*

John 16:7 *Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.*

*Insights and Highlight.*

The Holy Spirit came after Jesus had ascended to the Father.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Jesus' departure to Heaven was necessary for the Comforter to come.

The Holy Spirit is the Comforter and the Spirit of Truth.

He is a person and has a personality. He is the third person in the Trinity.

The Holy Spirit's dispensation would come after Jesus had ascended with the mission to be our comforter and to remind us what Jesus had taught us.

John 14:26 *But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.*

Jesus tells us that the Comforter is a 'he' underscoring His personhood and personality.

Significant of the Spirit, among many others, is that He dwells in us.

He is the Home of God and Christ in us.

The Holy Spirit brings the union, along with Himself, of the Father and Son ensuring a constant presence of the Trinity in the lives of believers.

Jesus says in John 14:17 that the Spirit will dwell with and in us.

*Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.*

Jesus tells us of His physical departure and that the Spirit will reveal His presence and that of His Father in us. This will happen through the Spirit

He says in John 14:19-20

*Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.*

*At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.*

In 1 John 4:13, He says *Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.*

Through the Spirit, God is able to house Himself in our small and insignificant bodies to make it a Holy and His dwelling place. We became His temple.

Solomon asked a question in 1 Kgs 8:27 and 2 Chron 6:18, *But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?*

However, God built Himself in our small mortal bodies through the Holy Spirit.

1 Cor 3:16 *Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?*

In our smallness we are graced to be able to accommodate Him.

Paul illustrates the greatest voice that ever came to man is placed in an ordinary box: an earthen vessel!

2 Cor 4:7, Paul writes *But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.*

He further illustrates God and Christ now lives in the believer

Gal 2:20  *I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.*

Rom 8:10 says *if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness,*

Each is present in the believer. The believer is not complete without each.

God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one and indivisible.

Each with the others is God. None is God without the others.

*Remorse corner.*

The Spirit of the Father and the Son is the the Holy Spirit

John 4:24 *God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.*

*Call to Word action.*

John 14:17, 19-20, 1 John 4:13 highlight the intimate, indwelling presence of God, the Son within believers, through the Spirit: a central promise of Jesus to His followers.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

God and Christ through the Spirit now lives in the believer.

*Prayer.*

Lord, as the Trinity is one, please let me be one with You in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.

Shalom.
