*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*GOD (2)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Gal 4:4 *But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,*

*Insight and Highlight.*

God was in Jesus and is Jesus.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Perhaps, and if not, the most disputed standard belief is Jesus, the Son of God.

As it was disputed by the Pharisees then so it is today and most likely it will remain so until Jesus comes again.

Their contention is that God remains alone, He had no Son in Jesus talkless the Holy Spirit.

They base their beliefs on the ground that God is one (true) but however believing that calling Jesus God is saying God is divisible. God is not divisible, He only manifests Himself in three ways, as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Yesterday we looked at God, the Father.

Today we will look at Jesus, the Son.

Jesus is God

The Son had His dispensation. God sent Him, Lk 1:35, Matt 1:21 Gal 4:4 after which He ascended to the Father and He sits at His right hand of the Father in eternal glory.

Heb 1:3, 1 Pet 3:22.

There are so many things God did when He came as Jesus and none of the things Jesus did or said should be considered as Jesus divisible or separate from God.

Every word of Jesus that suggests He appeared as lesser than God should be seen from the point of Jesus as man or in human form.

Jesus was 100% man and 100% God.

The humanness and manness of Jesus was behind the following comments (to mention a few):

For example, Matthew 24:36, *But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.*

*But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.*, (Mark 13:32).

Jesus as 100% God knew but Jesus as 100% man did not know because His human nature was behind this comment.

Jesus slept, ate, tired, wept etc were highlights of His humanness.

Psa 121:4 says *He that keeps Israel neither slumber nor sleep.*

Ps 127:1 says *Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.*

Ps 50:12 tells us that God is not hungry.

It was never reported God wept but it is recorded He was moved by the pains and cry of Israel in Egypt, Exd 3:7.

He was recorded as laughing at the wickedness of people and was severally provoked by the Israelites, Ps 2:4.

Jesus' first word of the cross is not an indication of Jesus not having the power to forgive as God has.

Lk 23:34 says *Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.*

In Lk 23:34, Jesus as our substitute or who died in our place was Jesus here as man pleading with God to forgive humanity's sin.

In the garden of Gestemane, He was in the likeness of humanity teaching us of the need for prayer as humans in our time of trouble and His expression that *"...all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.* Mark 14:36.

Mk 14:36 is not to conclude that Jesus's will is different from God's will.

It was to teach us how humans' will would wish to resist God's will in the time of desperation.

Jesus already told us He had come to die for our sins so He could not have been praying against His own declared will,

Mk 9:31, John 2:19-21, Matt 17:23.

The sin of man and the subsequent separation of man from God made God to come as man and lived like man, 2 Cor 5:19.

He lived as man in Jesus, suffered pain like man, tempted like man, spoke like man, died like man.

However in His divine nature, He healed as God, though died as man but rose from the dead never to die again and live as God lives!

*Remorse corner.*

God is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

*Call to Word action.*

The Trinity is one and the same.

The Trinity is monotheistic (There is only one God.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

God exists eternally as three distinct, co-equal Persons yet one: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit, sharing one divine essence or being. God is not divided. The Trinity is not three separate gods! (1 John 5:8, 1 Tim 2:5)

*Prayer.*

Lord, as the Trinity is one, please let me be one with You in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.

Shalom.
