ARE YOU AFRAID?

Psalm 34: 4 : I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Insight and Highlight

When we are afraid, we make mistakes. When we are afraid, we are tormented and fear is not subjected it brings tragedies.

Scripture Commentaries

When fear comes on us, we must establish self-control absence of which disaster could come on many around us.

In 1 Sam 21: 1-9, David came to Nob to Ahimelech, the priest. From there he fled to Achish of Gath, v 10-15.

His visit brought fear to the heart of the Priest for fear of the same king Saul that David also feared.

There are three things David did that brought calamities to Ahimelech.

First David lied that king Saul had sent him, 1 Sam 21:2.

Second, David sought refuge among the ungodly Philistines v 10-15.

Third, by his visit to Ahimelech and his subsequent resort to deception, when he pretended as an insane person, David caused the death of the priest and many others, 1 Sam 22:11-23, ref Ps 52.

God knows we fear, Isaiah 41:10. He wants us to trust Him in our moments of fear.

Be careful when fear comes.

The same David said in Ps 34: 4 ( which he wrote in relation to 1 Sam 21) says "I sought the Lord, and he heard me and delivered me from all my fears.

When fear comes, trust God first before all things.

Are you afraid?
