AFFLICTION SHALL NOT RISE...
Nahum 1:9 ► What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.
Insight and Highlight
When God begins, He makes an end.
Sin is the principal source of affliction. It must also be remembered that God allowed afflictions as a result of the persecution of our faith. This is not attributable to any sin, Acts 9:15-16, Rom 8:17.
Affliction can be in form of your disappointments, delays, heartbreaks, .etc.
Affliction can also be a direct consequence of willful sin against God.
The nation of Israel's affliction was their "trouble" or "oppression" proceeding from an enemy called Nineveh.
God, allowed the enemies of Israel and Judah to invade and oppress them.
In response to His people, God said affliction shall not rise again - meaning God will make an utter end of the enemies of His people, Nineveh,
Nahum 1: 8 ► But with an overwhelming flood He will make an end of Nineveh and pursue His enemies into darkness.…
Nineveh shall not afflict Israel a second time. God's visitation upon this enemy will be final, exhaustive that there will be no need to repeat it! Nineveh shall be no more in existence.
People who despise God's warning must be aware that their continued rebellion against God opens the door to an absolute certainty of doom.
Trust God in the day of your trouble.
