*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*WISE BUILDERS OF WEALTH (2)*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Proverbs 20:23 *Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
You do not have to cheat to be rich.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Jesus teaches us further tips for investment.
First, do not cheat.
Jesus teaches us how to invest with confidence and avoid cheating.
We must be careful to avoid helping to build wealth for ourselves while causing sorrow to others.
Higher returns come with higher risk.
People often try to minimize the risk of lower returns for higher returns by unequal weights.
Lev 19:35 says *"Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure."*
*Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD...."*
Unequal scale is the use of a false weight by using two different sets of weights, pretending they were the same and the same prices are charged.
The seller sells for the same gain he would sell the right weight.
Second, several parables of Jesus point to Him as a teacher on investment.
Matthew 25:14-30 (Parable of the Talents):
teaches us how we can use our several abilities wisely in order to make good investment decisions and produce positive results.
It also tells us that we can not be productive in any adventure we do not appreciate.
It also teaches us that not all money is meant for spending. There should be money set aside for investment and must not be hoarded. The one who hid the money spent for investment gained nothing. The money hidden but not invested was another way Jesus teaches against wastefulness of investment opportunities.
The talent could also be understood in the context of your abilities, your gift of business acumen, sense, or entrepreneurship.
In Matt 13, the parable of the treasure in the field, Jesus teaches us about the preference of investing in the Kingdom of God over any investment.
In the secular, Jesus teaches us the preference of choosing an investment that is of stable and upward returns in the long run.
It teaches that we invest in what brings us joy.
We must not only invest in what brings us money alone but investing in something that is beneficial or in the general interest of good health that meets the needs of the people
*…in his joy, he goes and sells all that he has and buys the field* (13:44).
For example, there are people who invest in the general interest of humanity other than being philanthropist to them.
Third, Solomon in Eccl 11, teaches us about diversification.
In Prov 21:20, he also teaches us about wise spending and savings.
This parable illustrates the idea of using your abilities by spreading out resources wisely to produce positive results in one than one ways.
For you to be a builder of wealth, you must invest wisely.
*Remorse Corner.*
Do not keep your eggs in one basket.
In the money market and investment, diversification is often suggested.
Investing in wisely chosen stocks from different businesses can provide high returns, which could mitigate the risk of losses from one stock.
*Call to Word action.*
By diversification, you spread your investments.
Eccl 11:2 *Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
In all you do, be righteous!
Proverbs 28:8 *He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.*
*Prayers.*
Lord, help me to invest in the fear of God.
Help me to invest wisely in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
