Those who do not fall into these times pass through them at one point or the other. A prominent American lawyer named Spafford Horatio who helped build a Presbyterian congregation and hosted prayer meetings in their home. He was very influential and affluent and as a successful lawyer, he also invested in real estate. His bad times came when the Great fire of Chicago destroyed most of his investments. Most tragic was the loss of his three daughters in the Atlantic during a family vacation which he did not go but his wife was spared of the tragedy. Spafford wrote the hymn *It is well with my soul." After falling into bad times of financial loss and personal grief accompanied by a lack of support from their church community, he left pursuit of material success and embarked on spiritual prigilmage till his death. Job was also a sufferer for God's sake, so was Paul, Acts 20-28 What are you going through today?
