*WHEN YOU PRAY....*

Matt 6: 5-7 *And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.*
*But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.*
*But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.*

There is no option available to any believer. He/she must pray.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Jesus reveals one of many fundamental essentials of the believer when it comes to praying.
Jesus said *"when you pray"* three times, Matt 6:6-8.
These words of Jesus must be well understood by the believer.
By His words, He wants us to learn a few things.
First, Jesus did not say *"if you pray"'. He said, *'when you pray'.*
Second, Jesus was saying it is expected that the believer prays.
If we do not pray, there will be a time we must pray. It is a spiritual obligation that we are certain of.
We can not escape from it. We are incomplete without it.
Third, prayer as much as is good jointly with others, Jesus now refers to the disciples individually.
'When ye pray' tells us prayer is an individual thing. The choice to pray begins with an individual before it extends to group and joint prayers.
Fourth, Jesus crowned it with a command. This He said in Matt 6: 9 *After this manner, therefore, pray ye:...*
This puts a seal on prayer as a survival kit for every believer.
If you refuse to pray now, Jesus says there will come a time when you will
pray. Why do you not begin to pray now?

Prayer becomes a daily bread to our spiritual survival.

Though some may wish to avoid praying but circumstances will drive them to pray for help to God.
*The Christian clarion duty.*
If Jesus said to us ,*"..when you pray..."*, it will be a disservice to our destiny to refuse to pray. Everybody needs to pray.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to begin to pray now.
Help me to pray when l am expected to pray, in Jesus name.
