*Scripture Commentaries.*

God's word warning us in Matt 7:1 *... Judge not, that ye be not judged.* is direct and unequivocal.

To fully understand why Jesus said this, we must read, study, and meditate on all of Matt 7:1-5.

Here, Jesus sums it all by showing us why we must not judge.

First thing foremost, God is the righteous judge.

Second, though God is the only righteous God and from whom all judgment is pure, He also reserves the right for us to judge, if we are not hypocrites, ref Matt 7:5.

Third, the aforementioned, therefore, clearly tells us that if we are hypocrites, we must not judge others.

When we judge as hypocrites, we fail to see our own faults but see faults of others.

We judge as hypocrites when, because we do not look at our own faults and this makes us worse than the person(s) we are judging

We judge when as hypocrites, when we persistently refuse to change our evil ways, yet we are always the first to condemn others.

Today, people use this passage to avoid being checked at their faults when, in actual fact, they should accept their wrongs

As much as there are hypocrite judges, there are also hypocrites who fault true and fair judgment proffered against them.

Coming to true judgment, Jesus is not saying we should not judge. He was only saying judgment must not be pronounced by hypocrites but by those who have clean hands and who judge with fairness and justness, Psalm 24:4, Prov 2:9, 1 Cor 6:1-8

Therefore, to be a judge in a matter is acceptable to God when observed in God's fear.

The following will further help us.

When you want to judge, first look at yourself. If you know you are worse, please keep quiet!

When you want to judge, make sure you are accepted by God to do so and please judge fairly, equitably, and with the fear of God.

When you are judged and you know your fault, accept that *....Thou art the man*

*Remorse corner.*

When you acknowledge your sin rather than crop up excuses, you are on the path of God's forgiveness.
