*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*THE POWER OF THOUGHTS (2)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Prov 23: 6-7 *Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:*

*For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

What your clean heart genuinely thinks is your true nature of who you are.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

You can impact yourself and others by your thoughts.

While Jer 29:11 describes the beauty of God as a caring Father, Prov 23:6-7 describes the ugliness, most dreadful, and the decline in the moral state of humans. All by what goes on in their hearts. This passage shares the same views with Jer 17:9.

Yesterday, we looked at the thoughts God has towards us. The *".....thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.* Jet 29:11.

From all indications, this thought teaches us two things.

First, who God is.

The second is who we are.

We looked at the first yesterday.

We will look at the second today.

Who are you?

Your thoughts or what comes from your heart will determine your personhood and personality.

The thought of impacting people's lives starts from a good heart.

You can not impact your life or people's lives if all that is in your heart is filled with evil thoughts.

Leaving people in a better place/position than you found them” or leading to a “positive change in people's lives, is one of the most excellent qualities of a good thought from a pure heart.

You are what your thoughts are even if your outward words and actions suggest otherwise. This is what makes God different. His thoughts are who He is. Nothing more, nothing less. He is perfect.

Besides God's thought, the word of God in Jer 29:11 also teaches us how the thoughts of the mortal can go on to fulfill an expected end, if sincere and truthful.

Daniel is a perfect example. The same thing he purposed in his heart was exactly what he did, Dan 1:8.

The ordinary mind/heart thinks deceitfully, Jer 17:9. His mind thinks or imagine vain things, Psalm 2:1-4.

A person's words reveal what is inside him, Lk 6:45. His mind thinks evil things, Matt 15:19.

If a person looks at God's thoughts in Jer 29:11 as a lifeline to keep his hope alive of the storms of life and that what he thinks in his heart would achieve or fetch him a fulfilled life he would keep his heart with all diligence because of the vital things of life that come out of it.

There is a strong correlation between God's thought of *"....peace and of good not of evil..."* (which means promising us no harm or death) until we achieve our expected end (which means to end well/prosper).

However our thoughts to “prosper” and “not harming” are different from God’s and this verse is teaching us that God's ways are different from ours but we can achieve his promise in Jer 29:11, if we carry or align our thoughts along with His!

One can have good thoughts of hosting a celebration but end up not making it alive on the day of the celebration.

One can have good plans for the day but end up not making it alive to see the day talkless its end.

The thought God has for us will ensure none of these happens because His initial thought brings about completion.

Plesants are God's thoughts, and His thoughts are able to impact our expected ends.

You can impact your future and others, but how pleasant are your thoughts?

*Remorse corner.*

You can influence your circumstances and future by carefully choosing your thoughts.

*Call to Word action.*

Prov 4:23 *Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

People of impact have good thoughts towards others. They uplift others as they ascend, and they never engage in tearing others down.

*Prayer.*

Lord, make me a person of impact by the way l think in Jesus name.

Good morning all.

Happy New Month of October.

Be a *Person of impact* this month.

It is our month of people who make impacts in theirs' and others' lives.

God bless you.

Shalom.
