THE DIE IS CAST.....

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*THE DIE IS CAST....."*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Matt 27: 62-66

*Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,*

*Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.*

*Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.*

*Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.*

*So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

In death, Jesus's enemies did not relent. That a person dies in the hands of the enemy does not stop further enemy attacks after his death.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

The death of Jesus teaches us that while Jesus was dead and buried, lying in the tomb today, Saturday, His enemies were still conspiring

and breathing further sinister plots.

This is an eye-opener that, though a person may be killed by the enemy it still does not end the hostility. This may be directed towards descendants of the victim though he/she is dead.

The victory, here, however, is that, though Christ was dead, He was still alive to defeat the enemy plans.

Though Jesus was dead and lied in the tomb today, He lived to destroy the plot of the Chief Priests and the Pharisees.

Though He died lying in the tomb today, He is not absent to turn the table against the enemy

God had gone ahead through a man

named Joseph, *....a counsellor, a good man, and just man...* to give Jesus a befitting body at burial.

He begged Pilate for the body of Jesus. He *"....took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.*

Luke 23:50-56.

Jesus came to make everything new.

The colt He rode had never been ridden by anyone, Matt 21: 1-3. No one had ever been dead and risen (except he/she was raised, son of the widow of Nain and Lazarus, Luke 7:11-17, John 11)

Jesus died and was buried where no man had ever been laid Luke 23:56. Jesus Himself died and raised Himself, John 10:18).

He became the firstfruit from among the dead, 1 Cor 15:20, Col 1:18

Today, the Lion sleeps to rise tomorrow. He rises tomorrow to roar and bring in a New Covenant. Though we worship God every day, tomorrow Sunday stands distinct throughout all ages as a day all people cease from work.

The die is cast for tomorrow. He must rise the third day, Sunday, the Resurrection Day!

The dusk falls rapidly. A new horizon dawns. The dawn of a new morning and New Life to as many as receive Him as Lord as Saviour.

Make sure you receive Him into your life now!

*Remorse corner.*

Today, Saturday was the Sabbath, a day when Jewish people were commanded to do no work but Jesus was working to make the first day Sunday, tomorrow, a day of rest and a day of Christian worship and liberty, 1 Cor 16:1-2.

*Call to Word action.*

While in the Old Testament, the Jews prepared for the Sabbath day before. It was the Lord's day, Exd 20:10. Jesus lies today in the tomb to prepare for the first day of the week, Sunday Matt 28:1. He became our Passover, 1 Cor 5:7. He is our Sabbath (Luke 6:5).

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Today, Saturday, ceases to be our Sabbath. Sunday, the first day of the week is the day of our joyous freedom brought about by the resurrection of Jesus. The day our Sabbath rose!

*Prayer.*

Lord, my Passover Lamb and Sabbath deliver and set me free from life's enemies in Jesus name

Good morning, all, and be blessed as you go today.

God bless you.
