*TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

1 Thess 5:23 *And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Though worms will eat this body of flesh, we still have the utmost responsibility to keep it nourished and pure.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Inside the body is enclosed the soul and spirit to complete the human personhood.

Out of the three components the human is made of, namely, spirit, soul, and body, the body, though temporal, is the only tangible and material of the three.

God values our bodies, and He wants us to take good care of it by washing it, cleansing, nurturing, giving it good rest, and not abusing it.

God loves beautiful raiment and clothings on our bodies, ref Gen 37:3.

He loves us to look beautiful.

Song of Songs 4:7. says, *You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you."*

He is a God who loves great admiration, the beautiful ref 1 Sam 25:3, 2 Sam 14:25, 26, and handsome, 1 Sam 9:2.

He tushed and remodeled a ruddy man to a man of beautiful countenance, 1 Sam 16: 12-13. He loves all colors and all races. He loves all equally John 3:16, ref Rom 10:12, Eccl 3:11

God is neat. He does not want stain, 1 Tim 6:16, Eph 5:26-27. Good housekeeping at the camp was of top-notch and a priority, Deut 23:12-14.

God having laid good examples, the following are some other ways that are just as very important to Him as regards, paying good attention to our bodies

First, Rom 12:1 tells us to present our *"......bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.*

Some people make distinguishing marks on their bodies. They are called tatoos. God does not want us to make marks or inscriptions on our bodies. By these marks, some people have conformed to the world and its pattern of living.

Lev 19:28 says, *Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.*

This is contrary to His will in Rom 12:2, which says, *....And be not conformed to this world:...."*

God still loves people who make cutting on their bodies as long as they can dedicate themselves to Him.

Second, though the body of flesh will be destroyed, God dwells in it as long as we live, and He honors bodies that are set aside for Him.

1 Cor 6:16-20 *What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.*

*But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.*

*Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.*

*What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?*

*For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.*

Third, God has the ultimate plan to raise the same body and give it a glorious one, if we take good care of our bodies now and be one with God before we die, 1 Cor 10:14, 1 Cor 15:42-44, 53-54.

Anything we add to our bodies to make lighter or darker, to make bigger or smaller, to shorten or longer or anything that alters our structure or body anatomy is to fault God's creative ability.

We can never be more or less than God has created us. Anything to add to or subtract will fetch ending and painful consequences.

If only we could always remember that God has a stake in our bodies.

We should praise Him as the Psalmist did. He says in Ps 139:14 *I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.*

Take care of your body!

*Remorse corner.*

We must preserve our bodies. It is honorable to God to do so.

Ephesians 5:10 *Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.*

*Call to Word action.*

Any alteration to your body is a dishonour to God

Romans 1:24 *Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

We should praise Him as the Psalmist did. He says in Ps 139:14

*I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.*

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me to glorify You in my body, in Jesus name (1 Cor 6:20).

Good morning all, and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
