*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*....SO GOD IS IGNORANT? (3)*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Gal 1:13-14 *For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:*
*And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Act 9:4 *And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?*
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Yesterday, we looked at people who sin with knowledge (that is, knowingly and wilfully)
Today, we will look at the category of people who sin without knowledge,
To both categories of sinners, it is helpful that people must not only hear the truth, they must know it, John 8:32.
Sin is rampant, and its root is found in when people fail to hear the truth. When they hear the truth, it goes out faster than when they hear it.
Another instance is when people hear the truth but fail to process it so the cares of this world take it away from them, etc. This is well illustrated in Jesus' parable of the sower in Matt 25:14-30.
The solution to sin is the gospel of salvation. When received, it changes peoples' hearts.
Absence of it is the root cause of why people sin with or without knowledge.
As there are people who sin with knowledge, so also are people who sin without knowledge.
When people sin without knowledge, they also boast of their sins.
They always think they are right before God, and in their evil, they think they are doing God a favor.
In this category is the Apostle Paul.
He did not know the Lord's will. He did not know until Christ revealed Himself in him, Gal 1:13-16.
The scriptures did not record that there was ever a time the gospel of repentance was preached to him until Acts 9.
Neither did Paul know that persecuting Christians was persecuting Christ, Acts 9:5.
Many of the problems we face in our world today are because of the lack of fear of God.
Whether a person sins wilfully or ignorantly is inexcusable before God.
To this, children of men who repent are now offered full remission.
Rom 3:25 says *Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;*
Have you sinned unknowingly or wilfully. Be assured that your sins were beforehand and are forgivable.
*Remorse corner.*
Forgiveness is available. Jesus was not ignorant of your sin. He says He knew you sinned but counted you were ignorant of it. He says you did not know what you were doing!
*Call to Word action.*
Luke 23:34 *Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do....."*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
To avoid sin, it is not enough for you to hear the truth but know the truth.
*Prayer.*
Lord, forgive me of any intentional or unintentional sin in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
