*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*....SO GOD IS IGNORANT?*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Acts 17: 30 *And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:*
*Insight and Highlight.*
God is not ignorant. We are the ignorant ones.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
The scriptures illustrate our characteristics in relation to God.
Gen 1: 26-27 tells us that we are created in God's image. This means we are like Him, not He likes us.
This unique distinction must always be at the back of our minds in our relationship with God.
That though our characteristics bear resemblance with God, His attributes all exist to a far greater degree than they do in us.
For example, as an image of God, humans' injustice does not make God unjust. Humans' unrighteousness does not make God unrighteous. Humans' love for each other, no matter how deep it may be, God's love for us is incomparably higher than our expression of love for one another.
God is not ignorant of anything. He knows everything before anything is made known to mankind.
Acts 17:30 refers to our ignorance as the time people did not know what they were doing.
Psalm 50:21 makes it clearer, saying the people had done evil, but God kept silent as if nothing had been done.
*These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.*
So God must not be taken for granted.
Many of us sin, and God decides to forbear or neglect judgment, and we justify ourselves, boasting about all over the place over our sinful nature.
We must fear!
God sees everything we do, either good or bad.
We must have the fear that if God decides to mark iniquity, none of us could stand.
Remember, God's overlook is not God's oversight.
*Remorse corner.*
Is God ignorant? No, He is not!
*Call to Word action.*
Psalm 130: 3-4 *Lord, if you measured us and marked us with our sins,*
*who would ever have their prayers answered?*
*But your forgiving love is what makes you so wonderful.*
*No wonder you are loved and worshiped!*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Your sin is visible, loud, and clear to God, but God has only chosen to keep silent. He chose to make no move to punish. There is a limit to His forbearance. Repent today!
*Prayer..*
Lord, help me. Do not let me take your mercy and forgiveness for granted, in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day today.
God bless you.
