*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*OUT NUMBERED OR OUT ORGANIZED.(12)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Luke 8:2 *And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Mary Magdalene's deliverance was given special mention. The worst and most destructive power of Satan is nothing before Christ's power.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Mark 5: 9 tells us about a man possessed with a legion.

The legion identifying that *“we are many, we are legion”* tells us about a group of wicked people who have a strong sense of unity.

As if the man with an unclean spirit was not enough to illustrate how many demons could be, Mark 16:8 and Lk 8:2 tell us how Jesus delivered one woman of seven demons.

One demon is enough to destroy how much more damaging and destructive seven demons would be in person!

Though Mark 5 tells us of *"......a man with an unclean spirit,......Mk 5:2 and Jesus commanded, saying ,".....Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit."* Mk 5:8, but he was

man with an unclean spirit yet had many spirits operating in him.

Matt 12:43-45 tells us that *"When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man,......"*

however, when he sees the place from where he departed is empty, *".....Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself,....."*

Here, we see yet another man who was possessed of an unclean spirit acquiring reinforcement to consolidate more power.

The several mention of evil spirit, their dominance, and the eventual deliverance of their victims remind believers of the reality of spiritual warfare. The call for Christians to watch, be sober, and vigilant can not be more urgent and needful than now any other time.

The mention of evil spirit tells us there are several spirits namely impotence, blindness dumbness, deafness, immorality, sorcery, necromancy, mental, physical infirmities etc under which the machineries of obsession, infestation, oppression and possession are dominant.

Seven spirits suggest seven different ones, and it shows Mary might have gone through multiple casting out of over a long period of time. Jesus, however, came through for her in one moment of an authoritative and divine word of expulsion.

Mary remains the only woman referred to as possessing seven demons at a time while others are identified as 'one of unclean spirit' though they had other demons present in them.

We can imagine the life of torture and torment she lived. It is still better imagined.

Mary Magdalene later became one of Jesus' most well-known and influential followers of Jesus.

She was there on the resurrection morning.

She was sent by Jesus to tell the others, John 20:11-18, Matt 28:1. She anointed Jesus' feet, John 12:1-8.

Satan only has authority and dominance over his victim, but Jesus tells us His authority to dislodge and totally destroy Satan.

We must constantly pray against Satan. He operates as a collective of unclean spirits, though he may be referred to as a single demon.

Mary Magdalene's story teaches us that people are not only saved from demon possession they become followers of Christ.

We must never allow our lives to slip into Satan's hands.

*Remorse corner.*

The authority of Jesus to destroy Satan and deliver those under his oppression is consistent with His mission to destroy the works of the devil.

*Call to Word action.*

1 John 3:8:  *He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

You have been transformed. The power of Jesus in your life exemplifies the redemptive power of Christ. Do not lose Christ!

*Prayer.*

Lord, l exercise the power of Jesus to destroy the Devil's power of dominating, outnumbering, and outorganizing his victims in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
