ONE HOUR WITH JESUS (3)
*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*ONE HOUR WITH JESUS (3).*
Matt 26:40-41 *And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Jesus, in the Garden of Gethsemane encouraged praying for one another.
Jesus’s word *"....watch with me one hour...* places a spiritual responsibility to intensely pray for one another.
His request to watch with Him for one hour tells us two things:
First, the request becomes a responsibility for every believer to be ready to be called upon to join someone in prayer.
Second, such request to pray, must be done, not hastily, but with quality time committed to it.
The bible uses different words for this request namely: stand in the gap, intercede, make up the edge etc.
When you are called upon to pray along with a brother or sister, devote quality time to it.
Remember Matt 18:19 *Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.*
There is no "island" with God. Asking someone to watch with you in prayers is an acceptable thing with God.
*Call to Word action.*
Ezk 22:30 *And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.*
*The Christian clarion duty*
There are people God hears faster than they speak, James 5:16. Join faith with them. Do not keep silent.
Lord, give me a heart to pray for someone. Travailing intensely until Christ is formed in them, in Jesus name.
Good morning all and have a blessed day today.
God bless you.
