*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*LIFE FREE OF TROUBLE*
*Scripture Treasure.*
John 16:33 *These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
God did not promise us a trouble-free life.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Peace was God's perfect will for us, but we made peace impefect no thanks to the fallen world, Gen 3.
Since then, pain/suffering has been acknowledged as an inevitable part of the human experience, Gen 3:14-19.
We are no more promised a trouble-free life, and though He has not promised a trouble-free life, He promised a life free of trouble.
He promises a life free of trouble with His presence in the time of such trouble.
Seven scriptures, among others, point to this. They are:
First, Matt 11:28-30, Christ promises us who labour and are heavy laden, rest which highlights peace and rest from struggles.
The second is in John 16:33. He promises us a life free of trouble because He has overcome it.
Third, Ps 46:1 says *God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.*
Fourth, in John 14:1. Christ gives us an invitation to trust. He promises that though our hearts may be troubled, trust in Him and His Father are reassurances. Though He has ascended to Heaven, we must not be distressed. He will be with us here, He has gone to prepare a place for us, and He is coming back again.
He charges us *Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.*
Fifth, in John 15:18, Jesus tells us the world will hate us because they first hated Him.
Sixth, Philippians 4:6-7 says *Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.*
*And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.*
Seventh, 2 Thess 1:6 tells us that people will trouble us, but God says *Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;*
Salvation through Christ provided an opportunity for the peace that Christ gives.
Salvation was His perfect will, but we made it imperfect by either not receiving it or by receiving and later falling out of it.
People who resist His perfect will of salvation make His teachings and message cause conflict and division, separating families and forcing people to make difficult choices about their allegiance to him over their existing relationships.
So Jesus says in Matt 10:34 *Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.*
What people ought to accept to give them peace is rejected, and what they ought to reject in order to avoid chaos is what they embrace, and this opens the door for conflict and wars.
In the world today, various beliefs against Christ's gospel have often been the cause of major conflicts of communal, local, national, hostilities, and often regional wars. The gospel of peace meant for peace and positive change is rejected.
Jesus is the Prince of peace and while His perfect peace is the presence of spiritual and total completeness and well-being, sharp contention against Him and His followers has brought protection and deep assurance to those of us who follow Him.
We are assured a deep inner calm and wholeness that remains even amidst our difficult circumstances.
His peace is offered as a gift from God, a fruit of the Holy Spirit that provides stability, trust, and in order to assure us in the midst of life's chaos.
It may appear you do not have peace, but you can have peace with God regardless of what you are going through by accepting Him.
Accept Him today!
*Remorse corner.*
God did not promise us a trouble-free life, but He promised a life free of trouble if we receive Him, John 1:12.
*Call to Word action.*
Jesus became 'a man of sorrows' and a 'suffering servant' as a result of the fallen world, Isaiah 53:3.
*The Christian clarion duty.*
The pains, sufferings, and challenges we go through are also viewed as having a larger purpose in our redemption.
*Prayer.*
Lord, give me peace in this fallen world in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
Shalom.
