*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*WALKING FREE. (5)*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Ephesians 5:16 *Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
We may not be able to refrain from the past but we can reframe it.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Today as we continue on Paul's ability to let go his past, his esteemed accomplishments and leaving them behind to move forward, we will further look at how he and we can overcome our internal wrestling with his past.
How can we really get away from our past without remembering it?
Can we really refrain from the past?
Can we disassociate from them?
While we accept that we may currently be facing issues that are fallout of past errors, we must know that we may not refrain from the past but we can reframe the past.
Refraining from the past is trying to avoid it. Reframing it is giving it a new picture and a new definition
Viewing it from another eye now more promising.
Learning to see past mistakes as opportunities for growth, humility, and trust in God.
We must accept that we may still face a fallout of our previous wrong choices. We have seen that God's forgiveness may not erase worldly consequences of wrongful past actions.
There are people still wrapped up with
legal or financial issues from past crimes or poor decisions.
There are people who have health challenges resulting from former addictions or risky behavior.
Some relationships are damaged due to previous infidelities, lies, betrayal, or hurt.
The devil's constant reminder, as an accuser of the brethren, attempts to convince believers that their past is who they are today. He can make people feel unworthy of God's love, freedom and salvation by constantly reminding them of their guilt.
Do you want to be free and walk free with God? Pray God to free you from your past mistakes.
*Remorse corner.*
When the past haunts you, it will discourage you pursuing the future and pursuing a deeper relationship with God.
*Call to Word action.*
The past will create despair that hinders spiritual growth. Its one of the most powerful forces that pull you back while you push forward.
*Prayer.*
Lord, break me away from my wrongful pasts that prevent me from breaking forth into the future, in Jesus name.
Good morning all and be blessed as you come into His presence today.
God bless you.
Shalom.
