*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*JESUS BRIDGED THE GAP.*
*Scripture Treasure.*
2 Cor 5:19 *To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Jesus is the bridge on which we cross to God.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
After the fall, it was an impossible distance between us and God.
Since Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they no longer had the moral courage to come before God who freely came to them, and they, without hindrance, were boldly in His presence.
God came to them when they did not request His presence, and they had His presence, uninterrupted
There, however, came a day that God came, but they saw God differently, and so did God see them differently, Gen 3.
It was very bad, Gen 3:1-19 and it remained very bad still.
God provided a solution to clothe their nakedness, but they had to be sent out of the garden. The life of struggles began. The life of striving and never achieving, reaching out but never receiving and achieving but never fulfilled.
God became hard and regretful on the children of men, Gen 6:6-7.
Sin separates. It separates the flesh from the human soul and spirit, ref Ps 51
Sin separates and creates war between the flesh and the Spirit, Gal 5:17.
Sin separates us from God, Isaiah 59:2 says
*But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.*
God saw that there was no reasonable sacrifice to perfect reconciliation, so He came as a man born of a woman to bring about reconciliation.
There could not be anyone else that would take away sins than for Him to become Himself in Jesus
We could not go to Him, but He came to us through Jesus, who became a bridge to bring us to God.
Communication and connection between God and Man were made possible through Him.
We could safely cross without fear, but with boldness, Heb 4:16.
However, not many are prepared to cross this bridge
This decision by God was perfectly explained in reference to Paul's word in
Hebrews 6:13 when he wrote about God's promise to Abraham that God *"...could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,"*.
1 Tim 2:5 refers to Him as the only mediator because He is one with God.
*For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.*
Several passages refer to Jesus as the only one acceptable in order to get to God.
Rom 6:23 says *"....the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.*
John 14:6 says no one could come to God except through Jesus.
Phil 2:8, the only prayer God responds to is the prayer offered in Jesus name.
Acts 4:12, Rom 10:9 says salvation is in Jesus name
1 Cor 12:3 says *"...no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed”; and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit"*
Some of the following scriptures below tell us that Jesus is God.
While everyone was created by God, Jesus was not created.
He has been from the beginning where God was expressed as not acting alone but in the company of the Trinity, Gen 1:26; 6:7.
John 1:1-3, Col 1:17 tells us of the presence of Christ before creation.
John 8:58, Jesus says *".....Before Abraham was, I am.*
In Exd 3:14,God told Moses He was the *"...I am that l am..."*
Jesus told us He is the "I am" in seven verses of the scriptures. John 6:35, 8:12; 9:5; 10:9; 11:25; 14:6, 15:1.
The bridge Jesus provides to God has no toll fare. It is free.
As Jesus is near to those who call unto Him, so is the bridge that fills the gap between man and God.
Do not allow the gap between you and God to widen.
Make use of the bridge.
Jesus is the way!
*Remorse corner.*
The bridge Jesus represents is not a bridge too far. Ps 149:18 *The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.*
*Call to Word action.*
There is really no gap between us and God anymore, if you can call Jesus or call God in Jesus name. At His name, every knee bows and every tongue confesses, Rom 14:11.
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Jesus is the bridge that crosses us from death to life. We shall not come into condemnation if ony we believe in His name, John 5:24.
*Prayer.*
Lord, continually bridge the gap between me and You. Let me never be far from You in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
