*Scripture Treasure.*

1 Kgs 21:25 *But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

1 Kgs 16:30 *And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord above all that were before him.*

*Scripture Commentaries.*

If God could hear Ahab, there is no repentant sinner, He would not hear.

Ahab was recorded as the worst King of the northern kingdom, Israel.

His wife, Jeezebel, notably, the worst woman in biblical history as a wife and queen of a king. Jezebel was not any different to wicked Ataliah the first and only usuper-queen (2 Kgs 8, 2 Chron 22).

God spoke to Elijah to pronounce judgment on Ahab over his covetousness, sinister plot, conspiracy, and arbitrary execution of Naboth.

Ahab responded to God’s judgment by humbling himself. In response to Ahab's humility, God said in 1 Kgs 21:29 *Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son's days will I bring the evil upon his house.*

If Ahab had maintained his state of repentance, God may have spared him totally.

Ahab would later enhance his evil and God's word that *" his son's days will I bring the evil upon his house.",* 1 Kgs 21:29) and because of this, God reversed His declared mercy.

King Ahab lost his life at the battle of Ramoth-Gilead. His blood that was washed off of his chariot was licked up by dogs in the city of Samaria in the same place where Naboth was unjustly killed.

Not only did God visit Ahab's sin, but his sons suffered judgment, 2 Kgs 9, 10.

Particularly worthy of note is God's mercy even to the worst sinner like Ahab.

As bad as Ahab was, God's response to his humble supplication teaches us

that there is no sin so bad that God can not forgive.

*Remorse corner.*

God's mercy is available just as His judgment is available.

We can choose which we want from Him.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

If there is no sin so bad that God can not forgive, then there is no sin so bad that you should not confess to God and repent from.

Lord, help me. Do not let me take your mercy for granted, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
