*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*HOW DEEP IS YOUR FAITH? (3).*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Psalms 27:13-14
*I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.*
*Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Faith assures you of what may appear impossible.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
David had an assurance that God would hear him, though he did not know when it would happen.
Truly, faith is an assurance of things hoped for evidence of things not seen, Heb 11:1.
The belief David had that he would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living kept him going.
The belief David had that he would see the mercy of the Lord and his problems would be over when God's light would shine upon him in the land of the living kept him going.
Though in his predicaments caused by his sin against Bathsheba and Uriah, he assured himself by faith that God would see him through though he did not know when it would happen.
So he urges us to continue to wait on the Lord and be of courage.
He says God will strengthen your heart in your despair.
It is only God who can never faint that could give strength to those who have no might or energy or encouragement to continue.
The strength to pray may fail.
Rom 8:26 informs us *Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.*
The strength to hold on may fail.
Challenges can cause weakness, though you have not engaged in any physical exercise or labour.
Isaiah 40: 28-31
*Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.*
*He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.*
*Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:*
*But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.*
Challenges could cause loss of appetite or a total loss of interest in life itself ref Ps 27:13.
David's Psalm's expectation *"..... in the land of the living....."* teaches us that when we wait on God, we will receive and experience God's goodness, favor, and intervention in his current earthly life, not just in the afterlife
Are you saying you do not have the strength to go further?
Are you saying you can not bear it any longer?
There is hope.
Remember, in your waiting, believe that God never fails!
*Remorse corner.*
Faith is a pillar. Pillars carry structures. It holds you to trust in God who is able to carry you even to your old age.
*Call to Word action.*
Isaiah 46:4 *And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Faith is key when you want to avoid spiritual collapse.
*Prayer.*
Lord, as l wait on You, give strength to my weary soul in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
Shalom.
