*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*HOW DEEP IS YOUR FAITH?*

*Scripture Treasure.*

John 20:29 *Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Those who believe without physical evidence are more blessed than those who believe because they see proof or evidence.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

In today's law courts, as before, your testimonies or cross examination are not enough admissible proof of an offense if there is no hard evidence (physical evidence).

On this stands the reason why a case may go cold and unsolved or someone may not be found culpable for an offense since there is no evidence that could tie him to the offense.

To this, Jesus offers a standard that ensures fairness in legal proceedings and church discipline. The use of witnesses.

At the mouth of two or three witnesses

a matter is only established as truth or valid, Deut 19:15 and Matt 18:16, 2 Cor 13:1 before a verdict can be reached.

This protects individuals from wrongful convictions based on a single person's accusation. This is valid in today's justice law, but Jesus has not ruled out proof and evidence, ref Matt 5:17, 1 Thess 5:21.

While the aforementioned are to offer protection from wrongful conviction, Jesus teaches us the truth about faith in Him.

This is the faith that is important to our spiritual growth as an extension of our salvation.

After Jesus' resurrection, He appeared to the disciples, but Thomas was absent. When he was told by the others, he famously stated that he would not believe unless he could see the nail prints in Jesus' hands and put his finger in his side.

Jesus appeared again, showing Thomas his much awaited proof, but Jesus told him

*Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.*, John 20:29.

Jesus here elevates faith beyond humans' search for physical truth or evidence before they believe in Him.

Here Jesus differentiates the belief that is a direct result of physical evidence and the belief that comes from no proof or evidence out of a deeper faith that tells us that though we have never seen Jesus yet we believe He died and rose.

God calls those things that are not in existence as though they were in existence.

Paul says in Rom 4:17 *(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.*

This is the foundation of the true believer.

Faith tells you that what you are asking God to do has been done.

How deep is your faith?

*Remorse corner.*

God says you have to believe what He says even when it is impossible to do so.

*Call to Word action.*

Heb 11:6 *But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

You can not see God with your physical eyes, but you can see Him with your spiritual eyes!

2 Cor 5:7 *For we walk by faith, not by sight.*

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me to be deeply rooted to believe You are who you say You are, in Jesus name.

Good morning, all, and be blessed as you come into His presence.

God bless you.

Shalom.
