What you dream can be a reflection of the multitude of idols in your heart.

In our study of dreams, we could see that dreams come in three ways.
First, dreams come as divine revelation. A revelation from God, disclosing to humans of God's future purpose or plan. A revelation from God to reveal or uncover something not yet known but shall surely come to pass.
Second, dreams as visions, desires, aspirations, goals, etc.
Third, dreams as fantasies, what we crave for, what we covet after in our hearts.
We have previously looked at the first and second categories. Today, we will look at the third and final category.
Through Eccl 5:3, Solomon warns us to avoid many activities that could negatively affect our dreams.
It teaches us that dreams can come through many things that we care for or crave after.
In other words, dreams that are encumbered with too many activities, imagination, and thoughts on our minds.
This tells us that dreams, trances, and revelations occurring in a person's mind during sleep could just be a reflection of what had been on his/her mind during the day or previously.
Eccl 5:3b further explains it as unguarded uterances. Multitude of this business is a product of too many unwanted utterances, Prov 15:12. It will not make you see clearly, and your vision is blurred because of your unrestrained lips, Prov 10:19.
For example, when people talk loosely in their sleep, it is a perfect illustration of the kind of dream they could have had due to what their minds occupy.
These dreams are neither revelations from God nor intended visions of goals but merely a craving of our cares and many words we utter.
Furthermore, when some people are in the habit of viewing offensive, horrific, or make-believes, their minds could be engrossed in these to reflect in their dreams.
*"... multitude of business..."* can also be explained when people have idols in their hearts, or much preferred choice of things or people rather than God's choice. Such mindset of activities can dominate their dreams.
God said to Ezekiel that when people have idols in their heart, what use would enquiring from Him be?
Ezek 14:3 *Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?*
God further explains that while such people may expect that He had answered them according to His will, they have only been answered according to the multitude of idols in their hearts.
Ezk 14:4 says *Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols;*
Do you want to receive divine revelation?
Do you wish to have visions, dreams, and aspirations?
Do you wish to dream according to God's plan of revelation and visions for your life?

If you want to dream according to God's will for your life, you must get rid of the multitude of idols, businesses, and activities in your heart!

Ezk 14:6 *Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Do not be a fool, Eccl 10:14. Too much of anything is bad. Multitude of words, Prov 10:19, Eccl 10:14. Multitude of words can lead to lack of direction, no vision, *"....No one knows what is coming, and who can tell him what will come after him?*, Eccl 10:14. Multitude of business or activities, Ecc 5:3.
*Prayer.*
Lord, deliver me from the multitude of business that can bar or distort my visions and dreams, in Jesus name.
