*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL?*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Acts 18:5-8 *And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ.*
*And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean; from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.*
*And he departed thence, and entered into a certain man's house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.*
*And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Humans build walls against evangelism and the gospel. Their resistance and barriers are in the form of the wall. By so, they make the gospel hard to penetrate.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
In the course of spreading the gospel, we face oppositions that are like throwing a brick to an already existing wall.
People who resist the gospel are a brickwall, but we must do whatever it takes to succeed!
In the early church, false leaders, preachers, and prophets were man-made obstacles resisting the spread of the gospel.
In Acts 18, Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul devoted himself exclusively to preaching, testifying to the Jews but he was violently resisted.
He left for the house of Titius, and he met some Corithians who eventually believed.
In his despair, God assured him of His presence.
Is the gospel like a brick on the wall?
The truth is that we know there is already a wall to forestall the gospel.
In Matt 6, Jesus.went into the synagogue to his
.own people, but they were a brickwall to the words of Jesus because of unbelief. Jesus did not give up on His ministry but moved on.
In 1 Cor 16:9 *".....and there are many adversaries.*
Though there are attacks but there are also assurances that there is victory over attacks, Acts 18:10, and His presence is assured, Matt 28:20, Jer 15:20-21.
Are you evangelizing?
There will be walls of protests and resistances, and bricks of insults will be thrown at you.
Remember, however, that though there are enemy established walls, God has also provided walls of security and protection for you against the enemies of God.
*"......thy walls are continually before me....”*
The Lord is always watching over and protecting His people.
Is there a brick in the wall?
Be assured that there is no stopping the gospel.
It has the power to penetrate the inpenetrable.
Hebrews 4:12, *For the Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.*
*Remorse corner.*
Isaiah 49:16 *Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.*
*Call to Word action.*
There is Christ: the gospel. He is building a wall of advancement and protection for us.
Isaiah 62:6 *On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the LORD shall take no rest for yourselves*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
People who resist the gospel are a brickwall. They are a challenging obstacle and an obstruction.
Be not discouraged. They may not listen or react when you evangelize. Just continue and be assured of God's presence.
*Prayer.*
Lord, penetrate every heart. Ovecome every man made walls against the gospel, in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
