ANOINTING (13)

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*ANOINTING (13).*

*Scripture Treasure.*

2 Kings 3:11-12 *But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may inquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel's servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah."*

*Jehoshaphat affirmed, “The word of the LORD is with him.” So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

The testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy, Rev 19:10.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Prophecy is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. As with other gifts, it is the evidence of the Spirit's fire upon a believer.

The Holy Spirit's work in the Old Testament is the same Spirit in the New Testament.

In our look at the anointing today, we will look at three things.

First, the anointed is a light that can not be hidden, Mk 5: 14-16.

The word of the Lord is with the anointed, and wherever they are is never a distance to those who seek the word of the Lord from them.

Even if they are in the most hidden places or obscure place, the anointing in their lives lightens up the paths to them.

Second, the anointing does not only lighten the path to their location, it lightens the darkness in people's lives.

The word of God through Elisha will not only give light to the mission of Ahab and Jehoshaphat as to what God would want for them but it will also determine what will happen to Ahab's Israel, Jehoshaphat's Judah and the survival of these kings, if they obeyed Elisha's prophetic word.

Isaiah 9:8 says *The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.*

Third, the anointed can receive a longtime recognition for the miracles he performed.

Jehoshaphat testified that the word of the Lord is with Elisha and also that he

*'.....poured water on the hands of Elijah."*

Elisha's good work on Elijah was prophetic of what he could still do.

This means that whatever Elijah did, Elisha was capable!

This is why some testimonies, though with all glory to God, are identified with some anointed.

Today, many of the Lord's anointed who have died are still remembered for the miracles they wrought when they were alive.

God is glorified and will not share His glory with anyone. He is, however, pleased to hear that He performed miracles through His anointed.

Bible records how *"....God performed special miracles by the hands of Paul...'*, Acts 19:11.

When miracles happen, God takes all the glory, allowing honor to His anointed.

*Remorse corner.*

The testimony we hear about Jesus working in our lives is the revelation of Jesus through the lives of the anointed into our lives.

*Call to Word action.*

The miracles of the anointed can bring him fame.

Mark 1:27b - 28 *'......for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.*

*And immediately, his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

God can use you.

*Prayer.*

Lord, use me in these end times. Let me be a miracle working anointed of the Lord, in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
