*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*YOU CAN NOT APPEASE THE WICKED.*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Isaiah 26:10 *Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the Lord.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Jer 13: 23 *Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.*
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Evil is predominant in today's world.
It is not surprising so since Jesus had said there is an evil sufficient for each day.
Every day has its own trouble of evil, Matt 6:34.
The Creator did not mention how much good is available each day. Therefore
we do not know except He be with us.
We know if we are on His side, He proclaims blessings saying in lsaiah 3:10
*Say ye to the righteous that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.*
Isaiah gave us a candid illustration asking if
an *"Ethiopian (could) change his skin, or the leopard his spots?...."*
He gives us three illustrations:
First, he uses people, the Ethiopian. Here, he tells us how troubling and troublesome people can be.
How? The unchangeableness of their characters , especially evil ones.
Some will not change because they love what is hateful and hate what is lovable.
People take pride in wickedness.
Second, Isaiah uses the leopard, an animal.
That, even if humans change, a leopard can not and can never, by any means of his own, change its spots.
If you do not believe the first, you must believe the second.
Third, lsaiah tells us that as bad and wicked as these people can be, they will fling away any treasure or anything good to appease them. They just can not treasure anything good except to persist in evil.
You can not appease the wicked by begging, sacrifice, giving of houses or treasures, etc.
Neither is the wicked able to do good. They are accustomed to doing evil!
Just as the only language temptation understands for it to make you an overcomer is "to flee," so also the only language the devil and his agents know so that you can subdue it is *"....taking it by force..."*
Are you ready to pray this year?
*Remorse corner.*
Matthew 11:12 *And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.*
*Call to Word action.*
Jam 4:7 *Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Matt 16:23 *But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.*
*Prayer*
Lord, help me not to love what You hate, and let me not hate what You love. Let me not do away with Your Kingdom treasure, in Jesus name.
Good morning and be blessed as you come into His presence today.
God bless you
